Concern
Please review the 1992 Gift Deed, and the 2012 Transfer Deed for the Durkee property. The proposed sports complex, and even the hilltop adventure options do not appear to be consistent with the requirements of the deeds. If the requirements of the deeds are not followed, the property reverts to the family or their heirs per the deeds.

Note that there are specific provisions not to remove any of the coniferous trees on site, and a request to remove as few as possible of the newly planted trees installed by the county in 2010 and 2011.

It is my understanding that the prior outreach for the parks master plan was done so without the input of the adjacent neighbors for the Durkee Park Property. Perhaps this is because the property is located outside the city limits in Clark County. Please include direct outreach to the adjacent and nearby neighbors for all future planning and development efforts.

It appears that overwhelmingly Trails are the most important park feature based on votes. Multi-sports fields and destination playground have a fraction of the support.

Concern
This property was donated with conditions that it be a nature park / natural area. The trees that are there now were planted at taxpayer expense just 10 years ago. The softball area floods and has standing water during the rainy season. I believe development into a sports park would be inconsistent with the agreements made with the Durkee family when they donated it to the county and ripe for legal challenges. Not the best use of limited park development funds.

I love the sports complex idea for the durkee property
