Yes, it starts with mapping our processes. But it does not end there. We also need to continually review the processes update them, do away with those that no longer apply. This should include everything for onboarding promoted, new or transferred employees, our daily operations as well as new services and ne solution.
Concern
If I work on projects for several different customers and billed to several different account numbers, exactly who am I supposed to bill these monthly performance improvement reviews to? How are we supposed to recover the costs for development of these dashboards and other process improvement steps? ISD has been talking the talk about this for decades, but the department has never actually made funding available (or even just forgiveness for overhead spending) which permits any real time or effort to be dedicated to these improvements at the level of the teams who are actually delivering services.
